Class Description
Drama Club will put on a live presentation this fall! The play selected is called “Knock, Knock”–a fun comedy enjoyable for all ages!
Read the synopsis here: “When you deliver packages, anyone might be behind your next door, from your elementary school teacher to a burglar on the job. Jaded veteran Logan thinks she’s seen it all, while newbie Sam is convinced attitude is everything. The only sure thing in this job? They’re both going to be surprised. “Knock-Knock” is a rapid-fire comedy that delivers.”
Class Requirements and/or Prerequisites
Students must be able to read well and deliver lines in front of an audience. No previous acting experience needed! All students who desire will be given a speaking part.
Auditions will be held prior to Solid Rock’s Open House on September 5 from 9:45am-11am.
Students should plan to be present at all rehearsals, especially the dress rehearsal and performance, barring illness or emergencies. At first, we will only be using our class hour on Friday mornings, but more rehearsal times may be needed in November. Additional rehearsal times may be scheduled immediately after SR lunch on Friday campus days. Every effort will be made to utilize our class time well, but please understand we may need more time then 8 hours to deliver a quality presentation where students feel comfortable speaking and acting before a live audience.
Below are the dates for the dress rehearsal and performance. Please note that the drama performance will be held at a separate time from presentation night. Thank you!
Dress Rehearsal/Presentation Night: Nov. 7 (dress rehearsal in the afternoon) Drama Performance: Nov. 8
Materials/Supplies Students Will Need to Bring to Class
Students must bring a folder to class every week. Once they receive their scripts, they are responsible to bring that script to each rehearsal.
Students may be asked to bring a prop or costume from home with parental permission.
