Class Description
You have traveled back in time with nothing but a blank book to prove you were there!
Your mission is to fill your book with pictures and other primary source material from each of these decades: 1960s-1990s.
Come travel through recent US history using fun activities, challenging questions and relevant materials! Class will include four parts:
Please keep in mind this class will have opportunities for 2 additional class-related field trips.
We plan to visit the Gerald R. Ford museum in Grand Rapids (around week 5 in our semester). Family members of Through the Decades 2.0 students may join the field trip at regular museum admission.
Students will also be invited to the Van Striens’ home for an evening to watch Andy Griffith shows (around week 2). Dates and details will be communicated to students & parents as time gets closer. While these opportunities are not required, they will hopefully enhance the student’s experience of “living history.”
